Advocating for Excellence in Education

Lauren Morgan

Lauren was born and raised in Knox County and attended Knox County Schools (K-12). Now, she’s a proud wife and mother. Lauren and her husband, Tommy, chose Knox County Schools for their three children because they know that our schools have great teachers who strive for excellence for every student. Lauren believes every child in Knox County deserves a great education, and as your representative on the Board of Education, she will fight for your children like she advocates for her own.

  • Mother of three students in Farragut schools

  • Graduate of Knox County Schools and the University of Tennessee

  • Serves on Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) boards at Farragut Primary and Intermediate Schools

I’m a proud wife and mother. My husband and I chose Knox County Schools for our three children because we know that our schools have great teachers who strive for excellence for every student. I believe every child in Knox County deserves a great education, and as your representative on the Board of Education, I will fight for your children like I advocate for my own."

Lauren Morgan's Priorities

Issue 01

Support for Educators

We must continue to increase teacher and support staff pay to retain and recruit the very best educators in Knox County. Nothing is more crucial for a student’s academic success than the teacher at the front of the classroom, as well as those who support students and teachers.

Issue 02

Parents’ Rights

In our own household, we have learned every child is unique, and we know this is true across Knox County. Parents should be welcomed in Knox County Schools as partners not merely passive participants. Parents, not the government, know what is best for their children.

Issue 03

School Safety

The first and most important responsibility of Knox County Schools is to keep our children safe. I will always stand with law enforcement, support putting an officer in every school, and vote to increase officer pay. Our men and women in blue are essential to allowing our children a safe place to learn.

Issue 04

Anchored in Excellence for All Students

Every child -- no matter the level of support required -- deserves nothing less than excellence. I will be a fierce advocate for increasing rigorous academic programming at every school and will support policies that include students with special needs in regular instructional settings.
